TERROR AT THE VILLAGE

After decades of sleep, without notice, the Monero Peak struck again with its fury. During the quietest hours of the night a gloomy rumble wiped away the sounds of the forest, and the terrain began to tremble. I will remember what happened next for a long time, with accuracy, as it occurs me when I dodge the scariest dumps.

The runes had twinkled in the obscurity, so I realized that behind that loud threat there was the furor of the Markets. I approached the window and I looked at the ridge. Suddenly, a scarlet blast irradiated the darkness, and a pillar of fire breached into the sky like a red candlestick. At that point there was no time to hesitate, the village was already in danger.

Hence, I started to rush. I used the bull form until the edge of the mountain, where the beaten track ends and the steep footpaths begin. Then, I went ahead over the climb. Despite the vegetation my pace was fast, but in my heart I felt troubled, because I knew that such disaster was not casual at all, aye.

Enraged by the slow growth of the prices, the Monero Peak waited my return to execute its vengeance. What I did not know it was how much that nefarious entity considered affordable to lose. I prayed intensely for my improvised plan, in the hope that it would put an end to that shocking retaliation.

When I reached the crater I was dripping with sweat. The heat was intolerable and the air was dense of poisonous gas. Kneeled down, I took my leather sack and I emptied its content. Luckily, the runes were glittering and eager to unleash their charge. I threw them into the boiling pit, enough to double the coin value, awaiting a sign of response.

Few minutes passed, which seemed moons to me. Then, the rumble smoothly faded, and dark clouds thickened above. A drop of rain fell on my face, followed by many others. I smiled to Cissonius under the heavy downpour, because I realized that the Monero Peak had renounced its revenge, being finally tamed by the uptrend of my sacred runes.
